A former worker at a North Side jewelry store has been arrested in connection with the loss of more than $20,000 worth of items.

Ricardo Gutierrez Dorantes, 39, was taken into custody following a months-long investigation tracing jewelry pieces missing from the J. Green Jewelers at the Vineyard Shopping Center, police said.

The jewelry store where Dorantes formerly worked notes on its website that it offers pieces ranging in price “from the budget-conscious bridegrooms to billionaire sultans.”
