DA seeks dismissal of murder cases

The Bexar County district attorney's office on Tuesday asked 186th District Judge Maria Teresa Herr to dismiss two murder cases because the witnesses could not be found.

Brian Benson and Clarence Raymond, two Hurricane Katrina evacuees from Louisiana, had been charged with murder in the June 29, 2006, shooting death of 17-year-old Fabian Mosby.
Benson was 22 at the time and Raymond was 19. The witnesses are believed to be in Louisiana, officials said.
Prosecutor Kevin O'Connell said the state moved to dismiss the cases in hopes of being able to pursue it in the future.
"We're going to keep looking," he said
